An Encounter with the Holy Spirit - 8 May09
I want to thank God for giving me a memorable moment to experience the touch of Holy Spirit during cell on Friday night (8 May 09). It was a wonderful experience that will carry me through the rest of my journey with God.
We started our cell a little different yesterday.. we had our 1st children cell (thanks to sis Junie for starting this initiative and sis Jasmine for leading our 1st children cell ) and a twist in our sequence - we discussed sermon questions first followed by worship towards the end .
As Bro Bernard was leading us in the worship song "On Bended Knee", I prayed and asked God for a touch from the Holy Spirit and I want to feel the Holy Spirit as a gentle breeze of wind. As I was praying, I felt a gust of wind coming from behind and went underneath my lifted hands. Initially, I thought it was my imagination...the wind must be from the fan in the balcony.
I continued to pray and ask God to fill me with the Holy Spirit. The same gust of wind continued to sweep consistently beneath my hands . I knew this is no longer wind coming from the fan, I couldn’t contain myself any longer… I started to sob uncontrollably. As sis Debbie was praying for me… the Holy Spirit lead me into another wonderful experience - I began to speak in tongues. This was such an awesome experience !! I could feel the power of the Holy Spirit, it was intense … I felt as if my tongues have left me and wondered away on its own :-)
Praise God for His goodness and faithfulness…He has revived my weary mind & body and healed my wounded soul with the touch from the Holy Spirit. For the past few weeks, I felt drained & down and different kinds of fear gripped me at one point of time. I was struggling to fight against all sort of negative thoughts. I felt lousy about myself over things that I didn’t do well both at work and home. I have lost the drive & passion for my work and had this ‘bo chap ‘altitude for my work . I also felt spiritually‘dry and dead’, the joy & zeal that I used to have seems to be gone. I couldn’t understand why and what caused all these and I have been seeking the Lord for an answer.
Hallelujah! I felt uplifted, re-charged & energized with the touch from Holy Spirit . I'm ready to move into a brand new season of my life with God’s renewed love and strength.
I truly believe fires of revival will come sweeping through and all of us will experience the touch of the Holy Presence of God in special way.
